During the weekends before Christmas, the Lake “Karersee” is the setting of a wonderful Christmas market. Only 20 minutes from the vivid city centre of Bozen, those who look for peace and quiet find a real paradise – experience the Advent in a very traditional way!

Along the shore of the picturesque Lake Karersee, a special Christmas market takes place this year. In wooden huts, looking like big lanterns, the visitors may buy typical and manufactured products of the South Tyrolean handcraft. Among other products, you are offered a selection of teas, syrups, herbs, natural cosmetics, jams, dry fruit, many types of cheese, felt creations, stone pine and hemp products.

As well, the beautiful snow and ice sculptures giving an impression of the ancient legends of the Dolomites, a life-size nativity scene and various wood stoves contribute essentially to the special atmosphere at the lake.

The visitors emerge into a fantastic winter wonderland, experience old traditions and customs close-up. Beautiful Advent melodies and Christmas scents allow you to participate in this wonderful Christmas atmosphere.

Moreover, you can hike across the picturesque and untouched winter landscape and make a walk around the lake that will be cleared of snow and lit with wonderful lights.
