Merano est un lieu de plaisir, et pas seulement d'un point de vue culinaire. En effet, on peut y profiter de toutes sortes de choses : de magnifiques promenades aménagées, des randonnées sur les chemins de Waal tout proches, des tours en VTT sur des singletrails fluides, la splendeur des fleurs dans les jardins inoubliables du château de Trauttmansdorff, des concerts d'été en soirée dans des châteaux et des manoirs et bien plus encore.
En automne, les nombreuses caves et auberges de Merano et environs invitent à déguster le vin nouveau lors de parties de "törggele" traditionnelles. En hiver, le domaine skiable de Merano 2000 attire les visiteurs avec ses pistes parfaitement préparées et le marché de Noël très apprécié attire de nombreux visiteurs de près et de loin.
Bref, aujourd'hui, on ne s'ennuie plus à Merano, c'est garanti. La ville thermale est certes restée fidèle à l'image de Sissi d'autrefois, mais elle évolue aussi avec son temps et a fait son entrée dans le 21e siècle de manière claire et surtout exemplaire. Merano fait plaisir - plus que jamais !
