Description de l'itinéraire

De Vernagt, monter au Tisenhof. De là, prendre le chemin 2 le long du Leiterbach dans la vallée de Tisental. Après une montée difficile (env. 3,5 heures), on atteint le refuge Similaun situé à 3 017 m d'altitude sur le Niederjoch.

De là, on peut soit prendre le chemin du retour, soit visiter en une heure de marche le site de la découverte d'Ötzi au bord du Niederjochferner, mais attention : la visite du site est une excursion de haute montagne réservée aux alpinistes expérimentés !
