La désalpe dans le Tyrol du Sud
La désalpe est célébrée en grande pompe dans tout le Tyrol du Sud en automne. Les meilleures vaches laitières sont décorées de couronnes savamment ornementées, les veaux en bonne santé sont couronnés ou accrochés avec des fleurs fraîches et les moutons sont marqués par des couleurs. Les animaux sont accueillis dans la vallée par des fanfares, des marchés fermiers, des fêtes populaires et des applaudissements et traversent les villages visiblement fiers et excités pour rejoindre leurs quartiers d'hiver.
Dans le Tyrol du Sud, la désalpe a lieu entre la mi-septembre et la fin octobre, selon les villages. Parmi les plus connues, on peut citer la transhumance de Terento, organisée dans le cadre du "Terner Schmelzpfandl", la transhumance de Merano, l'une des plus grandes du pays, qui attire chaque année des milliers de visiteurs, ainsi que la transhumance dite "Schafschoad" à Senales dans la région de Merano et à Kematen dans la Valle Aurina.
